Through offering our support, we enable our people and our communities to grow, to become missionary and to thrive. We are working towards all of our churches becoming outward-looking churches.
On Saturday 28th February, 16 of us took part in the Big Lent Walk for CAFOD. We met early in the morning all ready for a long walk from the Mammoth Lake across to John Merrick Lake on the Wanlip side of the park to be refreshed by coffees and ice cream. Unfortunately the conditions were against us. It had rained on and off throughout January and February and persistently on the Friday before the walk. By Saturday the park was flooded in so many places that we couldn't get very far. Undeterred, we walked back and forth looking for ways to get around the park. Some of our group even took off shoes and socks in order to get through the floods a show of true determination to do what we needed to do for CAFOD and in solidarity with our brothers and sisters across the world who are suffering with climate related issues.
Although we didn't manage to reach our KM goal, your support for our valiant attempt would be very much appreciated. Click the link and give what you can. Thank you!
