CAFOD - A message from Christina Mottram, our Parish CAFOD Representative

You can do any of the following things in support of CAFOD.

• Contribute  (and sign) to a global church petition to Stop the debt crisis by cancelling unjust debt around the world; Support a Debt Justice Law to make private lenders take part in debt relief; and Prevent future debt crises through a new debt framework within the United Nation
• Pray for the poorest countries burdened by global debt; and for those affected in our own communities
• Witness the Jubilee Icon https://cafod.org.uk/news/uk-news/jubilee-icon-blessed
• Express interest in following a 4 session reflection on Jubilee themes (at a convenient time and day) https://cafod.org.uk/pray/prayer-resources/jubilee-reflection-guide
• Pilgrimage- many participated in the Lent pilgrimage; some will join the Walsingham pilgrimage, and a National Jubilee pilgrimage will be heading for Nottingham from around the country in September, passing through Leicestershire en route

Of course as well as the global view, Cafod is part of the Caritas network, and there is a thriving group in Leicester which considers how to respond to local issues  (e.g. for debt, Sacred Heart was key to setting up the Clockwise credit union) and to enable parishes to be aware of local support available)- again parish suggestion are welcomed of local projects- a litter pick, or considering how we can reduce energy in our parish buildings and homes.
